Karla Timmerman-Epperson
Conductor Karla Timmerman-Epperson is actively involved in many programs concerning music, education and youth. Having taught orchestra and choir for many years in Olympia, she was selected as "Teacher of the Year." Karla was also honored by being selected as the recipient of the "Northwest Award for Outstanding Service in Music" and was inducted as a charter member of the "Washington State Hall of Fame." She is a former President of the Washington State Music Educators. Karla continues to play in the Tacoma Symphony and Tacoma Concert Band. She is a part-time faculty member in the Music Education Department of the University of Puget Sound. She also busies herself as an accompanist, adjudicator and guest conductor. Mrs. Timmerman-Epperson began her work with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association's entry level string program in 1997.
